All MOT's at Taylors Pitstop are carried out by VOSA trained Technicians and are on a strict appointment basis. The appointment lasts 45 minutes and we do ask you to arrive 5 minutes earlier than your scheduled appointment time. The cost of an MOT is £50.00

MOT re-tests are available on our appointment basis, and are free of charge within 24 hours. A £15.00 fee is payable up to 10 working days after the original test and after 10 working days a completely new test will have to be carried out.

Tests are available Monday to Friday from 08:30 to last appointment at 16:45 and each Saturday from 08:30 to 11:50.

What is an MOT test?

The MOT test ensures that vehicles over three years old are roadworthy and meet minimum safety and environmental standards.

Why do I need an MOT?

If you have a vehicle that is three or more years old, you are legally required to put your car in for an annual MOT test at an approved MOT centre. The MOT test will determine whether your vehicle is roadworthy or not.

What is covered by an MOT test?

An MOT test covers all the components that make your vehicle work, from brakes and exhausts to steering and suspension.

What happens if my vehicle fails its MOT test

You’ll be given a failure document and advised on retest rules. This means your vehicle doesn’t meet legal requirements and must be repaired and retested to comply with MOT test standards. Your service advisor will give you quotes for the work that needs carried out.

Do cars with free road tax still need to be checked?

Yes. All vehicles must pass an MOT test regardless of vehicle excise duty.
